Field Rifle / 3 Positional / Metallic Silhouette

General
Matches commence 10.00am.
Nominations close 9.45 am sharp, if you can’t make it by that time please ring ahead so that details can be organised.
Please arrive 9.30 am to help set up the range.
Nomination fee of $2 per match is collected.
During RIMFIRE ONLY matches no Centrefire rifles will be allowed on the range.
Senior members may use support (post or rest) for any match position.

Safety
An Empty Chamber Indicator (ECI) must be inserted to indicate the chamber is empty whenever rifles are uncased and not in use.
ECI’s are available from the range canteen.

Field Rifle Rimfire (.22 lr)
Simulates positions a shooter could encounter when hunting.
Course of fire 42 shots:

• Rapid Fire, 4 bursts of 3 shots in 15 seconds per burst at 25m.
• Off Hand, 10 shots standing unsupported in 15 minutes at 25m.
• Standing Post, 10 shots post support in 15 minutes at 50m.
• Sitting Post, 10 shots post support in 15minutes at 50m.

Field Rifle Centrefire
(Calibre .224 to 8mm, full metal jackets prohibited.)
Simulates positions a shooter could encounter when hunting.
Course of fire 42 shots:

• Rapid Fire, 4 bursts of 3 shots in 15 seconds per burst at 25m.
• Off Hand, 10 shots standing unsupported in 15 minutes at 50m.
• Standing Post, 10 shots post support in 15 minutes at 100m.

3 Positional Rimfire (.22lr)
Sporting rifle event for shooters wishing to refine their marksmanship.
Course of fire 60 shots:

• Prone, 20 shots in 30 minutes at 50m.
• Standing, 20 shots in 30 minutes at 50m.
• Sitting / Kneeling, 20 shots in 30 minutes at 50m.

3 Positional Centrefire
(Calibre .224 to 8mm, full metal jackets prohibited.)
Course of fire, same as rimfire, shot at distance of 100m.

3 Positional NRA “Any sight” Small-bore (.22lr)
Any .22 long rifle, no restrictions on rifles or equipment.
NRA official course of fire is 120 shots, 40 shots from each position

• Prone, 2 X 20 shots in 20 minutes at 50m.
• Standing, 2 X 20 shots in 40 minutes at 50m.
• Kneeling, 2 X 20 shots in 30 minutes at 50m.

Dual Prone Match (.22lr)
Shot from the prone position

• 2x 20 shots in 20min at 50m
• 2x 20 shots in 20min at 100yards

Metallic Silhouette Rimfire (Rimfire / Centrefire)
Shot from the standing unsupported position at steel targets.
Warning - Centrefire loads must not damage steel silhouette targets.
Course of fire 40 shots rimfire / 20 shots Centrefire , each 5 shot series 2 ½ minutes.

• Chickens, ten targets at 40m.
• Pigs, ten targets at 60m.
• Turkeys, ten targets at 77m.
• Rams, ten targets at 100m.

Metallic Silhouette Air Rifle ( Thursday Shoots only )
Course of fire 40 shots,
.177” and .22” calibres allowed.
Air Rifle may be shot on any day in conjunction with Rimfire Silhouette.

Long Range Shoot
(.22lr and Centrefire calibre .224 to 8 mm)
Shot with any rifle from any position except benchrest.
Sand bags, front rests, bipods, shooting sticks and post rests permitted.
Course of fire:

• 20 shots Rimfire at 100 metres in 30 minutes
• 20 shots Centrefire at 300 metres in 30 minutes.
